(Montreal) Laval’s Marcel-Vaillancourt Primary School has to close its doors for two weeks due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
The school currently has 20 cases “the majority” of which are divided into three groups, writes the Laval School Service Center (CSSDL) in a statement released Monday evening.
“However, following the epidemiological investigation, public health has isolated nearly 115 students, or 20% of all our students,” continues the CSSDL, which then indicates that it has made the decision to close the school until November 20. .
From Wednesday distance lessons will resume for the students of this elementary school.
The CSSDL ensures that parents of students to be placed in solitary confinement have been informed, while other students and staff have been advised that they will have to undergo a screening test as a preventative measure.
According to the most recent data from Quebec, there are currently 383 active COVID-19 outbreaks in schools, accounting for more than a quarter (27.3%) of all outbreaks in the province.
