AMD is back to the TOP! Ryzen 5600X, 5800X, 5900X vs I9 10900K

[ad_1]

We are the first in the world to reveal more specific information on AMD Ryzen 5000 processors. Through material and videos it will be possible to observe, in practice, the gaming performance of Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 7 5800X, Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 9 5950X. That is, the entire AMD Ryzen 5000 range is available first-hand for you. Has AMD finally turned the tables on Intel this time around?

It is important to remember that the goal of our tests was the comparison of the new AMD models with the Intel Core I9 10900K. Until then, this was the fastest game model available on the market. However, we can say that, with the new Ryzen 5000, the game went in favor of the AMD competitor.

For the test, we have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. This video card model is very interesting for our purpose, as it can push many frames, stressing our CPU and allowing us to test in extreme situations. The motherboard used was an Asus TUF B550M-Plus and a T-Force 8GB RAM at 3600MHz. We also used a 1TB CARDEA Z440 SSD and a PG512X. Finally, the unit had 1050W with Silver certification.

Processor specifications

  • 5600X: 6 núcleos / 12 threads, Básico 3.7GHz / Max 4.6GHz, TDP 65W
  • 5800X: 8 núcleos / 16 threads, Básico Clock 3.8GHz / Max 4.7GHz, TDP 105W
  • 5900X: 12 núcleos / 24 threads, Basic Clock 3.7GHz / Max 4.8GHz, TDP 105W
  • 5950X: 16 núcleos / 32 threads, Basic Clock 3.4GHz / Max 4.9GHz, TDP 105W

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X

This processor is a real monster, with 16 CPU cores and an incredible 32 threads. Furthermore, the Basic Clock is 3.4 GHz and a Clock Boost of 4.9 GHz, however, this value of 4.9 GHz is on demand on some cores, which is not exclusive to AMD. To give you an idea, some cores reach more than 5 GHz on demand.

Although AMD promises a clock boost of only 4.9 GHz, with the use of the Aqua X200 Water Cooler, the threads remain at a stable temperature and reach a clock rate of around 5 GHz. The same goes for Ryzen 5, Ryzen 7 and 5900X, which means they all exceed your Clock Boost value.

In practice, these high clock rates help processors a lot in games. In addition, the processor IPC has improved, latency has decreased, and as a result, the performance within games is much better.

Game test

To demand more from the processor, we will use a powerful graphics card and focus on Full HD resolution. This happens because the more FPS that are played over the processor and the video card, the more stressed the CPU is and hence we will see the real difference between the processor models.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

We already have a very CPU and GPU heavy game. We can see an advantage for all Ryzen 5000s over 10900k, with only a few draws. However, it is worth mentioning that the same values are for a mid-range processor versus a high-end processor.

CS: GO

When it comes to gaming testing, it’s impossible not to in a competitive game like CS: GO. In that case, all (yes, all) AMD Ryzen 5000 processors far surpassed the 10900K, which was the fastest gaming game on the market to date.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

In this game, we have a slight edge for AMD. The 5800X was paired with the 10900K processor, while the 5600X was slightly behind the Intel model.

Far Cry 5

In Far Cry 5, the advantage is still evident for AMD Ryzen 5000 processors. There is still a technical link between Ryzen 5600X and I9 10900K.

Final Fantasy XV

Once again AMD has the edge in this game. Out of curiosity, in this specific case, the instability was very present in the Intel Core I9 10900K.

Flight simulator

This is a very heavy game and very popular with the public. In this test, a positive highlight for the Ryzen 5800X and a negative for 10900K, which was behind all AMD Ryzen 5000 processors.

For honor

All processors hit the engine limit, around 250 FPS. In this case, we almost had another technical draw, however, there was a slight advantage for the Intel Core I9 10900K.

gta V

In GTA V we have a curious case. The overclocked 10900K got a big advantage over all others. However, in stock, all AMD Ryzen 5000s have a big advantage over Intel.

Rainbow Six Siege

In this FPS, all Ryzen 5000 processors had an advantage over the Intel Core I9 10900K.

Red Dead Redemption 2

This game uses the same engine as GTA V, which had an edge in 10900K. In Red Dead, the advantage is repeated in stock and overclocked.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

In the Shadow of the Tomb Raider open world game, we have a significant advantage for AMD. When comparing AMD’s Mid-End processor with Intel’s High-End processor, the former has an advantage of at least 10 FPS.

Strange Brigade

Here we had a small advantage for the I9. However, in that case, the GPU became a limiter. The processors were almost in the same performance range.

The Division 2

In this case, the highlight is the Ryzen 7 5800X, which achieved the highest FPS rate.

The Witcher 3

In this heavy open world game, which is very CPU and GPU stressing, we had a large advantage for AMD processors, with a difference of 20 FPS.

Watch Dogs Legion

This is a launch game, and AMD has had a very interesting advantage with its Ryzen 5000 processors.

Conclusion

In other generations of processors, the 10900K had an advantage in virtually all cases. So we added a 3600XT, the most powerful Ryzen 5 on the market. However, compared to the Ryzen 5 5600X, we can see the evolution within the generation itself.

For this reason, we can consider that the Ryzen 5000 are the best processor options for gaming. We emphasize that we are not talking about price, the discussion is only and exclusively about which is the fastest model for games. So, we have the new 4 kings on the market when it comes to gambling!
