HitBTC has created a real ripple in the cryptospace in recent days with more complaints registered against the exchange of cryptocurrency. The controversy had begun when the exchange was accused of deliberately freezing a New Year operation.
This problem was brought to light when a couple of users complained about random account blocks. John McAfee, who has historically been against the exchange of cryptocurrency, has not missed the opportunity to investigate. He tweeted:
"I had warned everyone more than a dozen times, do not sign in. Do not use it Withdraw funds, I've been swept away for calling HitBTC a corrupt company Shit hard You had six months notice to withdraw your funds. now. "
Just recently, Colonelnipples, a Reddit user, said: "I think HitBTC just cheated me and I documented it." The Reddit thread stated that the user purchased $ 700 of Bitcoins [BTC] after which he was not able to collect the goods due to an incomplete stipulation of Know Your Customer [KYC] service.
The user also talked about how the KYC process took a long and bizarre path that included cryptocurrency exchanges that wanted photographs around the user's home and a documented form of the fund's origin. He also stated:
"I put everything I have together and send it to them (remember, this is a $ 700 transaction, not multiple." They send the same email exactly as they want the origin of the funds, I politely ask what part I missed e-mail on the origin of the funds, I send them everything I have again. "
The allegations about the exchange of cryptocurrency have also been supported by many other users who have had similar experiences. Another Reddit user, SalvaD1, had declared:
"D & # 39; agreement, very shitty exchange. They can not have the coins so come with that nonsense."
