Six weeks full of headaches and guesswork are over: in the grand finale of “The Masked Singer” on Tuesday night, the last five celebrities in sumptuous costumes were also revealed. These stars were under the masks.
The anubis, the alien, the skeleton, the hippopotamus or the pair of meerkats? Who will follow in the footsteps of Max Mutzke and Tom Beck? It will be decided at the end of the show, but the first finalist of the show was selected two and a half hours earlier.

After each costume was cleared to complete the first performance, the audience was spoiled for choice. Why the celebrity with the fewest votes had to unmask right after the first appearances. This time it hit the pair of meerkats. Lucas Cordalis and Daniela Katzenberger hid under the mask of Mr. and Mrs. Erdmann.

But it wasn’t a surprise. Because the public has had this assumption since the first episode. Fans believed they recognized the cult blonde by her voice. Daniela’s realization after the revelation: “The Palatine dialect cannot be changed”.

Half an hour later the next finalist arrived. This time the public decided against the Anubis. The alien instead sent the audience to the final.

But which celebrity had the costume signed in real gold leaf? In recent weeks, names such as Elyas M’Barek, Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, Jan Josef Liefers, Jürgen Vogel or Ben Blümel have been mentioned. And indeed: the “angel” singer hid under the mask.

At 11.20pm the next finalist was determined. The hippo landed in third place. While jurors believed stars like Teddy Teclebrhan, Haddaway, Ross Antony or Mark Medlock could be hidden under the mask, the public always had only one name in mind: Nelson Müller. And so it was.

But why did the celebrity chef choose the hippopotamus costume with the pink tutu? “I used to dance ballet when I was seven,” she said shortly after the presentation.

In the grand finale there were the alien and the skeleton. The latter duel was once again won by the singer in a glittery costume. The skeleton was a favorite from the first episode, but the alien was also an audience favorite.

Some believed they recognized Luke Mockridge under the mask. Indeed, Alec Völkel was in costume. The BossHoss singer said after being exposed that as an alien he felt “like a bucket in the head in a sauna”.

The winner of the third season of “The Masked Singer” was then determined: the skeleton. ProSieben revealed at 00:30 who is hiding under the mask. Sarah Lombardi was in costume.
