Sealing his fourth title defense as a 145-pound monarch Bellator, Patricio freire, the second double champion in promotion history, will surely be the best featherweight to walk the face of the earth.

In the head fight of the Bellator 252, the 33-year-old Brazilian has won five straight wins with a first-round KO of Portuguese Pedro Carvalho which incidentally granted him a 145-pound ticket to the semi-finals of the Grand Prix.

In a post-event media interview (via MMA Junkie), the “Pitbull” was sure to be the best featherweight on the planet.

I’m not the best Bellator featherweight, I’m the best featherweight in the world. No other featherweight has my hands. I am complete. I have eleven knockouts and eleven proposals. There is no other Featherweight on the planet that’s as complete as I am.

Freire isn’t the only one who has been convinced of this ever since Scott Coker, President of Bellator, thinks the same way, even comparing him to the legendary boxer, Roberto Duran.

“We are lucky to have him in our ranks. He was a great ambassador for us. He’s been here a lot longer than me. I recently started watching some videos on our YouTube channel and elsewhere, and I said to myself, “This guy reminds me of a young Roberto Duran.” He is not afraid of anyone. I think it is the best. Right now? It’s the best featherweight on the planet, “he said.

Freire prepares to carry out his fifth initial defense when the fighter’s Roufusport, Emmanuel sanchez, in the semi-finals of the Grand Prix.
