The Smorodincev Influenza Institute announced today a competition for volunteers who would receive the corona virus vaccine, the research institute posted on its official account on the social network VK.
The AA Smorodintsev Influenza Research Institute at the Russian Ministry of Health is recruiting volunteers for clinical trials of the covid-19 vaccine (phase III), the text states. The search should begin in a few days.
Earlier, the interim director of the Influenza Institute, Dmitri Lioznov, announced that his institute began testing the Chinese vaccine on volunteers in September. Phases 1 and 2 took place in China, where the vaccine was shown to be safe.
This fall, 500 volunteers were engaged in Russia, where the safety and efficacy of vaccines were demonstrated.
If not, participants in the vaccine trial will be hospitalized and are scheduled for two of their visits to the Institute, on the day of vaccination and 12 months after.
