Turkish scientist Betül Kaçar will lead the new American Aviation and Space Administration (NASA) project.

In a written statement from NASA on the subject, the project’s goal was summarized as the search for life in the universe.

It was pointed out that the research of the teams formed under the project included astrobiological research from cosmic origins to the formation of the planetary system, the origins of life and evolution and the search for life beyond Earth.

Betül Kaçar shared the following statements in her post on her personal Twitter account:

“I want to share great news. Our project has been chosen as one of the newly created astrobiology centers. I will lead a team of 12 research groups who will lead the search for life in the universe for the next 5 years.”

NASA has funded Arizona astrobiology researchers about $ 12 million to create two large new research teams to investigate whether planets outside the Solar System are habitable.

Betül Kaçar has been working in Astronomy and Molecular Cell Biology at the University of Arizona since 2017. Kaçar also holds the title of associate professor at the Tokyo Institute of Technology Earth-Life Science Institute.
