Brazilian director and producer Cadu Barcellos, 34, who collaborated with the famous comedy channel “Porta dos Fundos”, was stabbed to death early Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro in an alleged assault.

Cadu Barcellos had left Pedra do Sal, considered the temple of Rio samba, in a vehicle that a friend had requested through a transport application, which she had left a few kilometers later, near a subway entrance in downtown Rio de Janeiro, where he was allegedly attacked.
According to the G1 news portal, the director was seen shouting for help around 3.30am (local time, 6.30am in Lisbon), after falling lifeless to the floor.
The Military Police of Rio de Janeiro stated in a statement that they had been alerted of the incident, having gone to the place, where they found the body of the young director, already dead.
The police homicide department has opened an investigation to clarify the cause of death and find the person responsible.
The police report identified “injuries caused by a sharp instrument, mainly in the chest area,” according to authorities.
