A new highway code could soon come into force with much more severe penalties. A bill in this regard provides severe penalties for aggressive driving behavior, this category includes repeated honking or controlled skidding.

The fine for aggressive driving behavior would be 750-1,000 lei.
According to the legislative initiative, aggressive behavior would mean:
-subsequent change of lanes to overcome the columns
– started in a whirlwind, with the creaking of the wheels
– repeated horn
– motorcycle on one wheel
-circulation at unjustifiably low speed, in another lane, in addition to the first
– sudden braking when returning to the lane
– walking backwards to intimidate traffic participants
– controlled slip
-drive a car on the sidewalk
As for the classes of sanctions, there will be 6, not 5, as currently.

– class I – 2-3 fine points (250 lei – 375 lei)
– class II – 4-5 fine points (500 lei – 625 lei)
– third class – 6-8 fine points (750 lei – 1,000 lei)
– 4th degree – 9-20 fine points (1,125 lei – 2,500 lei)
– 5th grade – 21-50 fine points (2,625 lei – 6,250 lei)
– 6th degree – 51-100 fine points (6,375 lei – 12,500 lei)
