Today, Monday, the Operations Department of the General Hospital received the cases of the ophthalmological convoy and ophthalmic surgery, the cases transferred from the city of Dabaa for surgery, as the number of cases transferred today reached 43 cases, of which 35 cases of cataracts and the implantation of flexible lenses inside the eye.
The first day of the convoy will begin tomorrow in the city of Marsa Matruh, Tuesday, which takes place under the auspices of Major General Khaled Shuaib, Governor of Matrouh, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Beltagy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Matrouh in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Solidarity, Shifa Bank and Sharia will continue for a period of three days in eight days. 400 cases are expected to be present daily until three in the afternoon.
As regards the preparations for the General Hospital, Dr. Sabri Shaban, Deputy Director, specified that the visit will take place in the outpatient clinic in four distinct examination rooms and four operating theaters due to the high number of frequent visitors to the convoy with residence with a capacity of 30 internal beds for cases requiring follow-up after surgery, the elderly and specific people.
The hospital administration appeals to citizens to wear masks, keep social distances and apply all precautionary measures that will prevent the spread of the new Corona virus, in order to preserve everyone’s safety.
