A great Romanian coach has died at the age of 62

The Romanian Wrestling Federation announced on its Facebook page on Monday evening the death of Gheorghe Broşteanu, “an emblematic figure of free wrestling”.

European medalist, but also a talent scout as coach of CS Unirea Iaşi, honorary member of the FRL, Gheorghe Broşteanu died “after a long and moderate suffering” at the age of 62.

Broşteanu won the silver medal in 1982, in the cat. 90 kg, at the European Championships. He was a multiple national champion and winner of numerous international tournaments, but also an honorary citizen of Iaşi.
