The Portuguese scored a new goal, and is now the top scorer in history in terms of home goals in the Champions League.

The UEFA Champions League continues the rivalry between two of today’s top scorers: Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

On 2 December, in the match of the fifth day of the group stage, the Portuguese scored a goal against Dynamo Kiev, thus breaking the Argentine record. CR7 now adds 71 goals scored in home games, and is the best in the history of the Champions League in this section, while Messi has 70.

In the general tally, however, the Polish Robert Lewandowski and the Spaniard Raúl share third place in the historic Champions League scorer list with 71 goals each (excluding the qualifying phase). In this list, Messi is second with 118 goals, while Cristiano is first with 132 goals he scored during his careers with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus in the Champions League.
