Borussia Dortmund reached the round of 16 in the Champions League before the final matchday of the group stage. With the 1-1 against Lazio, Dortmund get the point they need for this.
Borussia Dortmund experienced joys and sorrows in the cold Wednesday night. After young striker Erling Haaland was injured so badly that he was unavailable for a few weeks, coach Lucien Favre’s side qualified for the Champions League round of 16 late in the evening.
The Dortmunders return the favor against Lazio Roma with a 1-1 time for a 1-3 defeat in the first leg. Portuguese all-rounder Raphael Guerreiro scored Dortmund’s goal just before half-time. Halfway through the second half, goalkeeper Lazios Giro Immobile equalized with a penalty foul.
Dortmund, with Roman Bürki and Manuel Akanji, could be overtaken by Bruges in the points in the last round, but the direct duels (6-0 in the two games) would speak clearly for Dortmund.
In the match between Lazio and Bruges it will be decided who will go forward also in group F. The Belgians must win in Rome to overcome Lazio.

After the 1-1 home draw against Lazio after Matchday 5 of Group F of the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund are certain they will take part in the round of 16.

Paris Saint-Germain won 3-1 at Manchester United and thus secured the final of the round of 16 on the last day of the group.

In the exciting Group G, there is a stalemate between three teams before the last round: Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Leipzig have nine points each. The French are in the most favorable position on paper as they still play at home against Basaksehir while Manchester United will have to play in Leipzig.
