The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mobile processor will be used in Xiaomi’s next flagship smartphone. Thus Xiaomi is the first manufacturer to confirm a mobile phone with Snapdragon 888. The new Xiaomi Mi 11 could be officially presented as early as this month. In addition, the Chinese company raised nearly $ 4 billion in financial funds.
Snapdragon 888 im Xiaomi Mi 11
Qualcomm had just announced details of the new top chip, the Snapdragon 888, and a major first manufacturer has already confirmed that it will equip one of its upcoming smartphones with it. This is neither Apple nor Samsung or Huawei, but the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi. As Notebookcheck also reports, Xiaomi will use Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 as the CPU for the new Mi 11 flagship. The successor to the successful Xiaomi Mi 10 should appear in the near future – at least an official presentation could even take place before the end of the year. In a tweet from Xiaomi, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, confirms the use of the Snapdragon 888 in the new Mi 11.
Xiaomi collects billions
Additionally, it was also announced today that Xiaomi has raised nearly $ 4 billion in funds in the form of stocks and convertible bonds, as reported by ARD. However, stock market investors are often not exactly thrilled with such shares – the Xiaomi share price has therefore fallen by more than 10 percent. Xiaomi may still seem rather unknown to many in Germany, but in the smartphone budget for the third quarter of 2020, the manufacturer is already ahead of Apple globally and is only beaten by Samsung and Huawei. Huawei, in turn, suffers US sanctions, so Xiaomi could go up again. The agreement with Xiaomi is therefore also an important development for Qualcomm and shows that the chip has obviously been successful, otherwise a company like Xiaomi would not equip its next flagship with it. The new Snapdragon 888 is said to be a step forward, especially in terms of the efficiency mix between power consumption and performance.
