The Doctor Who Christmas special promises to be an exciting event. It’s already been confirmed that it will feature a brand new Dalek design and the departure of two of the Doctor’s companions, but could there be romance too?
Mandip Gill, who plays partner Yasmin Khan, talked about the possibility that the relationship between Yaz and Thirteen evolves into something more, delighting the couple’s shippers everywhere.
In an interview with SFX, Gill was asked what he thought of fans who wanted his character and Jodie Whittaker’s doctor to be together.
“Me and the doctor? I love it, “he replied.” Fan art is right out there. Okay, right? You want a character and a storyline – even if that storyline wasn’t there – you want people to talk about it.
“I don’t want it to just stay on screen, I want people to relate to it or have seen something in our two characters that they think can go on a different journey.
“Sot for me, that’s what I’m here for.”
She was quick to add that she was not confirming that the ship had, in fact, sailed: “I’m not saying it happens or it doesn’t.”
But if that happened, he would only have one request for the Doctor, and that is that “I balm your lips, because I really take care of mine. Don’t let this be your title – she’ll be sent lots of lip oil! “
The Christmas special, titled Doctor Who: Revolution of the Daleks, marks the latest appearance of Bradley Walsh and Tosin Cole as Graham and Ryan companions, although we already have some ideas about who could replace them as new Doctor Who companions.
