Developer Purple Tree Studio and Publisher Zordix have announced today’s release of Bomberman-inspired Ponpu. From now on, the motto on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation and Xbox is “May the best duck win”.
To celebrate the launch, an explosive multiplayer competition is taking place on Steam in collaboration with G-Loot. The top 150 players who win 100 games on Steam (regardless of game mode) share a total prize pool of € 3,000. The all-knowing duck god is fed up and the world is getting closer to his duck. Every two billion years the world has to be restarted and sends Ponpu as its omen. While landing, he loses his memory with a blow to the head and fights the duck god and other ponpu to save the world from destruction.
Ponpu makes his way through six challenging worlds in a vast single player campaign, defending himself against hostile Ponpu and huge, deadly and grotesque bosses. Thanks to the newly announced multiplayer mode, up to four Ponpu can compete against each other. Three game modes are available: Coin Chase (collect coins in front of opponents), Color Fight (attacks distribute color in the level, larger area wins) and the classic team deathmatch. Every win, every kill and other stats are recorded in a handy world ranking system.
