Munich – Bitter news for the San Francisco 49ers!
Due to the local ban on contact sports, they will have to relocate to play Matchday 13’s Monday Night Game against the Buffalo Bills and Matchday 14 against the Washington Football Team.
In a statement, the 49ers announced they will play their next two home games at the Arizona Cardinals Stadium. This was done in consultation with the NFL and the Glendale, Arizona club.
The strange thing is that the 49ers will play three of the next four games in Glendale, after all, on Matchday 16, they will also play the Glendale Cardinals.
Quarantine for travelers
The move was preceded by a new crown ordinance from the city of Santa Clara, where the 49ers stadium is located. In addition to banning contact sports, the city also ordered a 14-day quarantine for anyone arriving from a distance of 150 miles or more.
This regulation is initially valid for three weeks, but may be extended. It is therefore not yet clear whether the home match on Matchday 17 against the Seattle Seahawks on January 3 at Levi’s Stadium can take place.
