Renewing our beloved processor today may be more difficult than before, and it is that despite the lack of stock of the new AMD Ryzen 5000, its previous series, the Ryzen 3000, have been experiencing a significant price increase for a few months.
Thanks to the price comparator we can see that one of the most popular CPUs, like the Ryzen 5 3600It cost € 218.9 on June 8, 2019 and reached its lowest price on April 7, when it was quoted at € 169.90. The problem is that since August 6, prices have not stopped rising until they hit € 229.90 current. This means that the processor is more expensive now than when it was launched on the market.
On both Amazon and Coolmod, the CPU can be purchased for € 230, so we’re talking about a general price increase.
The AMD Ryzen 7 3700XFor example, on June 8, 2019 it sold for € 316.90, suffering the biggest drop on July 6 at € 295.90. Today this CPU costs € 319.95 on Coolmod and € 329 on Amazon, so it costs even more than when it was released a year and a half ago.
What is the reason for this price increase? Well, there can be several reasons, such as the lack of stock of the Ryzen 5000, leaving only the Ryzen 3000 as a purchase option. It could also be because Zen 2-based processors employ the same 7nm manufacturing process as the Ryzen 5000 and Radeon RX 6000, so they may run out.
In Argentina we are already used to rising prices, but is this trend for the AMD Ryzen 3000 global, is it due to lack of inventory or strong demand?
