His home and even the doctor’s office were searched for material of interest.

Faced with alleged irregularities in the home hospitalization of Diego Armando Maradona, the Argentine judge ordered a search of the home and office of the personal doctor of the deceased football star, Leopoldo Luque, who became the first defendant in the ongoing investigation, provisionally, as unjust death.

This was announced by La Nación on its website, after information provided by judicial sources.

“By virtue of the evidence gathered, it was deemed necessary to request searches of Dr. Luque’s home and office. If the irregularities in Maradona’s home hospitalization are confirmed, it could be the crime of manslaughter “, explained the informants consulted.

The raids were ordered as part of the investigations conducted by the prosecutor of Benavídez Laura Capra and the deputy attorneys general of San Isidro, Patricio Ferrari and Cosme Irribaren.

When law enforcement officials and police personnel arrived, Luque was surprised, “I didn’t expect that,” informants said.

“Since Luque was Maradona’s family doctor, it was decided to search the house and office to find the documentation to determine if there were any irregularities during Maradona’s home hospitalization,” explained the sources of the case.

The raids, at the request of the team of prosecutors, were authorized by the judge of Tigre’s Warranties, Orlando Díaz. The magistrate, provisionally, defined the procedure as manslaughter.

The procedures aim to find elements to determine whether the doctor was responsible for caring for Maradona after he was discharged from the clinic where he had been operated on for a “subdural hematoma”.

When Maradona died last Wednesday, the doctor was not at the home of Lot 45 in the San Andrés neighborhood, but he called 911 to request an ambulance at 12:16.

Investigators want to determine if he was responsible for Maradona’s care, how many times he went home to check on his patient.

So far, the neurosurgeon was the only member of Maradona’s milieu who had not testified as a witness.

“Yesterday the investigative tasks and the validity of the evidence in progress continued, including taking some testimonies from direct relatives of Maradona”, explained the attorney general of San Isidro in a statement.
