In the movies, Prowse was also voiced in the English version. Actor James Earl Jones took over. As director George Lucas announced, they wanted a darker voice for the role of Vader. Prowse was nearly two meters tall and was therefore cast for the role of Vader.

The great roles for Prowse didn’t materialize after the success with Star Wars. In addition to his film roles, Prowse has also worked as a fitness instructor. In 1978 Prowse trained Christopher Reeve for his part in Superman. Prowse hasn’t appeared in public in recent years. He suffered from dementia.
