The view of Earth from SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule

(CNN) – The view from space is just out of this world.

NASA astronaut Victor Glover, one of four astronauts aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, posted a video on Twitter of the stunning view from Earth during his first journey into space.

«My first video from space! Looking at Earth through the dragon’s window of resilience, ”Glover said Twitter. “The scale of detail and the sensory inputs made this perspective impressive!”

The video shows Glover sitting near a window absorbing the view from space. The astronaut, who serves as the pilot and second-in-command of the spacecraft, said the view was incredible but the video “doesn’t do it justice.”

NASA astronauts Michael Hopkins and Shannon Walker and Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi are also members of the mission, called Crew-1.

This is the second manned flight of a SpaceX spacecraft.

Earlier this week, Glover also tweeted a photo from his “new home”, where he will spend the next few months working from the International Space Station (ISS).

While more than a dozen black people have traveled into space since Guion Bluford became the first to do so in 1983, Glover is the first full-time black crew member on the ISS.

The spacecraft flew into space from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center, ushering in what NASA hopes will be years in which the company will help maintain the International Space Station with all personnel. The Dragon Crew docked at the International Space Station on November 16.

Crew 1 astronauts are expected to spend approximately six months aboard the ISS, where they will work on a variety of scientific experiments and conduct spacewalks to continue upgrades and repairs outside the space station.

CNN’s Jackie Wattles contributed to this report.
