Jordan’s health minister, Dr Nazir Obeidat, said on Saturday that Jordan’s health system needs to be overhauled, adding that his ministry seeks to obtain exemplary services for citizens in all governorates.
Minister Obeidat explained during a meeting with some Karak deputies and his medical director and his visit to the Karak Governmental Hospital: “Jordan has skills, and it is not possible to use doctors of other nationalities”.
Obaidat indicated that the Ministry of Health is trying to resolve the specialty shortage in Karak government hospital, which will take a period of time.
He said the occupancy rate of intensive care beds during current days in Jordanian hospitals generally does not exceed 52%.
He said comprehensive health insurance is an ideal goal that everyone strives to achieve.
