How will the vaccination campaign be organized in Toulouse and the Haute-Garonne? A campaign that, if vaccines are given the green light, could start quickly, at least for people deemed at risk. This question, the Toulouse municipality, through the voice of François Chollet, the elected official responsible for the fight against the epidemic, wants to put it on the table immediately. “The town hall will respond present but we draw the attention of the health authorities to a necessary logistical organization”, anticipate the elected officials. Toulouse Métropole alone has 760,000 inhabitants. On this figure, François Chollet estimates that there are from 200,000 to 250,000 people “at risk” to be vaccinated as a priority, starting with the over 65s. For him, despite the reluctance expressed in public opinion, there will be pressure from the population. “It will therefore be a mass vaccination campaign. We have to anticipate.” Toulouse has three official vaccination centers: at the CHU, at the Joseph-Ducuing hospital and at the Dalbade municipal health center. Three sites that will be insufficient. François Chollet suggests, for example, to make available the current Covid centers managed with the Order of Doctors and which, today, host relatively few people, and which, despite this, remain open. “We are ready to participate in a discussion group”, says François Chollet. Questioned yesterday about the vaccination campaign, Jean-Jacques Morfoisse, Deputy Director General of the Regional Health Authority, did not advance on the logistical aspect, recalling the opinion that the High Health Authority must first formulate on vaccines, “December 1”, and the approval they must obtain for their marketing, “around 10 or 15 December”. “We will do everything to ensure the logistics,” he said.
