The protesters, known as the Friday bicycle protesters, took to the streets again today after a few weeks off. This time, due to restrictions banning rallies in public places, the protest against the government took place in cars. The protest began at 19:00 with a trip to the center of Ljubljana, “massively, loudly and visibly criticizing the current government”.
According to them, the government has once again demonstrated, among other things, “to exploit the epidemic for dictatorship, repression and violations of fundamental rights, such as the right of expression”.
Among other things, they have been disturbed by the sixth anti-crown legal package, which, in addition to helping the economy, increases the fines for organizers of gatherings of people in public places at a time when this is prohibited due to the epidemic, from 1,200 to 12,000 euros. According to them, these are disproportionately high penalties, which are the result of highly political rather than professional decisions.
As they predict, they will not allow the government to silence the people and increasingly loud and indignant criticism at its own expense. Nor will they allow the government to shift the blame and responsibility for the epidemiological situation onto anyone but himself. “The health of the people was never endangered during the protests on Friday and there is no evidence that infections are spreading during the protests, and this is particularly incredible while riding in masks,” they wrote.

Also because they respect the provisions, this time the protest took place individually by car, “from which, according to all medical professions, there can be no transmission of infections”. They also announced that they would organize car protests on Fridays until the government was canceled or fell.
A press release following the protest told the People’s Assembly of the protest that the police had announced to the protesters that they drove their cars that they would receive penalties for unauthorized pick-up. “When asked what the collection should have been and how driving a car on the street could affect the spread of the covid-19 virus, the police had no answers,” they said.
From a video shared by one of the protesters on the social network Facebook, the police also announced sanctions for unauthorized honking.
Protesters are convinced that the police have received instructions that protesters should be punished in any way, regardless of whether their actions did not endanger the health situation in any way. Protesters announced that they would resist possible punishment by all legal means.
In some countries, problems with covid-19 are now associated with skiing, which, according to the speaker, is the wrong answer. Instead, politicians should support safety planning and promote operational requirements.
