Matthew Perry and Molly Hurwitz are engaged

(CNN) –– Matthew Perry is engaged to his girlfriend, Molly Hurwitz, the “Friends” star revealed in comments posted Thursday.

“I’ve decided to get engaged,” the 51-year-old actor told the magazine People. “Luckily, he was dating the best woman on the face of the planet,” added Molly Hurwitz’s Mattew Perry.

Earlier this month, Perry shared on Twitter with his followers that the long-awaited “Friends” reunion will take place in 2021.

“The Friends meeting will be rescheduled for early March. It looks like we’re going to have a very busy year. And that’s how I like it! ”Wrote Perry, who played Chandler Bing on the hit series.

With a wedding on the table with Hurwitz, it looks like Perry will have an even busier year.

Fans of “Friends” waited patiently for the special, which was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

David Schwimmer, another of the show’s actors, said in July that they hoped to start filming, but in a conversation with Jimmy Fallon they added that they would have to “wait until it was safe”.

“Friends” co-creator Marta Kauffman said they want a live audience for the special.

“This is an unscripted show, but that’s how it works,” Kauffman told Entertainment Tonight when the meeting was first postponed last spring. We will need a live audience. Even if we socially alienate that live audience. It really is a huge part of what “Friends” is. We can’t do it without them.
