  • Victoria (46) and David Beckham (45) are building an artificial lake on their property.

  • An initial construction application was approved, but plans have now been made for a larger lake.

  • The lake should now be 100 meters long and 55 meters wide.

  • Beckham’s neighbors raised objections to the big project.

David (45) and Victoria Beckham (46) are apparently far from being finished with the refurbishment and extension of their luxury country estate in the British Cotswolds. After having its own sports field for tennis and football lessons, two swimming pools and several saunas, the couple’s next big project is currently in the starting blocks: an artificial lake that will have an area of over 4100 square meters and also a small island .

The Beckhams seem to have reckoned without their neighbors. As reported by the British newspaper “The Sun”, several people have turned to the responsible municipality and have raised objections to the project. “The size of the lake could significantly increase the risk of flooding in the area,” one of the letters said.

“It should be forbidden!”

Residents are mostly angry that this is the second time the Beckhams have submitted a planning application for the lake. The first plans, which included an area of almost 3,000 square meters and no island, were presented and approved in July. Even then there were objections which were rejected.

Now that the lake is getting bigger, the neighbors are expecting the worst: “What’s next? Do the motorboats running up and down the lake disturb our peace? “Even the kidney-shaped lake, about 100 meters long and 55 meters wide, simply appears too large on the floor plan for the land intended for it.” It should be forbidden!

Victoria and David Beckham have not yet publicly commented on their neighbors’ displeasure. The excavators have already stopped at their luxury property in the Cotswolds: according to “The Sun”, excavations for the artificial lake have begun in recent days. For now, however, only the plans approved in July will be implemented, as the authorities’ decision on the entry of the new plans is still pending.
