PS5: Exclusive rights for two well-known titles secured - rumor

According to current rumors, Sony has secured the exclusive rights to two major brands. They are said to be “Metal Gear Solid” and “Silent Hill”. After several clues have surfaced in the past, Moore’s Law is Dead now would like to know that these are remakes and will be released exclusively for PS5.

While “Silent Hill” doesn’t mention a specific development studio, “Metal Gear Solid” is to be developed by Bluepoint Games. The highly regarded development studio has already produced remakes of “Shadow of the Colossus” and “Demon’s Souls”. The HD collection of the “Metal Gear” series, released in 2011, was also created in this studio.

The tech insider talks about it in his latest podcast episode, which discusses otherwise current computer hardware. He also shared the good news on Twitter.

The rumors persist

As early as September it was stated on the Youtube channel “RedGamingTech” that 1998’s “Metal Gear Solid” will receive an elaborate remake. It is not known which studio should be responsible for the development.

Numerous rumors have also surfaced about a new part of “Silent Hill”. There was recently talk of a reveal at the Game Awards, which will be held soon. In any case, Imran Khan of Kinda Funny Games thinks these rumors are credible.

Before that, it was reported that two “Silent Hill” games are planned. While one of these will be developed by Konami, the other could be produced by Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan.

About this

Konami hasn’t commented on any of these claims yet. Consequently, you should note that this is unconfirmed information. In the past Moore’s Law is Dead has already revealed the sequel to the reboot of “God of War”. As it stands, it seems very likely that both “Metal Gear Solid” and “Silent Hill” will find their way onto PS5.

The two PS5 titles will be discussed at 1:47:50.
