Last month, British manufacturer McLaren gave us our first look at the next generation of supercars. Artura is the name of McLaren’s new hybrid model and sales will begin in the first half of 2021.

In 2012, McLaren was among the first companies to launch a hybrid supercar (the P1 model) that competed with models such as the Porsche 918 Spyder or LaFerrari. According to the giant, the new Artura is the first high-performance hybrid supercar (HPH).
Unlike the P1, which had a twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, Artura uses a compact V6 engine with two turbochargers. The electric motor and lightweight construction, however, suggest that the new Artura will be at least as fast as the P1 model, ignoring the fact that it integrates a small-displacement petrol engine.
Considering the 903 horsepower, it should go from zero to 100 km / h in just 2.8 seconds. Furthermore, Artura will be able to operate in fully electric mode, but our autonomy is not revealed. The new model is expected to sit somewhere between the McLaren GT and 720S in the brand hierarchy.
The company also claims that all available models will have a hybrid engine by 2025. At the moment, we only have camouflaged images of the new model, available above.
