Since it hit the market on November 12 (November 19 in Portugal), PlayStation 5 has been one of the most desired tech items. As a result, stocks have been constant.

Now, Sony has commented on the arrival of the console on the market, revealing in a message posted on Twitter that the launch of the PlayStation 5 was “our biggest launch” in terms of consoles.

Furthermore, it has also been claimed that there is an “unprecedented demand” for the console during these weeks. If they are in the lot of players who want to buy a console, there will be, according to the Japanese company, more units sent to stores by the end of 2020.

“We want to thank gamers from all sides for making the PS5 launch our biggest console release ever,” he begins by mentioning in the message.

“Demand for the PS5 is unprecedented, so we want to confirm that more PS5 inventory will hit retail by the end of this year – please get in touch with local retailers,” he adds.

In comparative terms, when it hit the market in November 2013, the PlayStation 4 managed to sell 2.1 million units in just two weeks, despite having originally launched in fewer markets than its successor.
