Google works to simplify the process update new emojis on Android, so that it does not depend on a system update, but can be updated directly from the Play Store.
Android emojis are stored in the read-only system partition (system / fonts), in the fonts directory. This means that for its modification, for updating to new emojis, wait for a system update which includes them.
However, XDA developers have detected changes in the Android Open Source project, whereby Google is unlinking source files from system updates, via place it in a new directory (/ data / fonts / files), reading and writing.
Through this change, users would not have to wait for a new system update to get the latest emoji news, but they could download them from the Play Store.
