Microsoft changes the way copy and paste works in Edge (luckily, you can disable it)

I thought I was crazy, because something came out bad every time i pasted urls in Microsoft Edge Slack. Instead of appearing as a URL normal, they looked like this, with the title and a link to the domain:

As you probably suspect, Microsoft introduced a change in Edge Chromium so that copy a URL if default copy the page title with a hyperlink instead of the raw URL. This affects both the address bar as the connections which copies every time you do it right-click on a link.

I imagine this change it might be useful in some cases, but I prefer to be copy a simple URL as before. While you can press CTRL + Shift + V para paste a simple URL Where do you want, it’s not very useful if you want links to remain shapeless default way .

Microsoft didn’t ask users what they preferred enabling this change, but at least he gave us a way to disable it. to startOpen Configuration menu Edge Chromium by clicking the i iconthree-pointed cone in the upper right corner of the screen and then Setting. make click on Share, copy and paste in the left sidebar or just release to catch Url in address bar e impulse intro: edge: // settings / shareCopyPaste.

You will then see this screen, which by default is “Link“. Change it to “Plain text” and you no more will care about that Little quirk of Edge Chromium.
