Training canceled, the player fled during the break: the tree is on fire at Schalke

FC Schalke 04 cannot find a way out of the crisis. After the 0: 2 against Wolfsburg, Königsblau expected victory from 24 Bundesliga games. Now the players seem to be losing their nerve.

“I am so served and so angry, I might just cry,” says heartbroken Mark Uth on Saturday after the subsequent bitter disappointment for Schalke. They had a lot planned, but the eighth try this season didn’t work to win. The home game against Wolfsburg was lost 2-0.

In all seasons, the “miners” expected 24-game championship victory. The drought has never been longer in the club’s history. Tasmania Berlin’s inglorious Bundesliga record is getting closer and closer: in the 1965/66 season, the Berliners had to wait until Matchday 32 for a three.

Stambouli leaves alone after being replaced

The traditional club, which played in the Champions League two years ago, is at the bottom of the table with three points. And slowly but surely the nerves seem to be on fire. According to a “Bild” report, Benjamin Stambouli allegedly left the stadium in anger during the match against Wolfsburg. After being replaced in the interval, he is said to have raced right away.

The next day, Stambouli wanted to be at the team meeting again. But the coach Manuel Baum would have asked the French – due to the disrespectful behavior on Saturday – to leave the room immediately. Now there may be a suspension. Not only for Stambouli, but also for Amine Harit, who was replaced at Wolfsburg after 37 minutes and disappeared directly in the locker room. According to “Sky”, there should be “a sort of forced break” for a total of four players.

The training must be canceled

Vedad Ibisevic also has to fear sanctions after being responsible for Sunday’s training break. The striker attacked assistant coach Naldo after giving him instructions out loud. “Only with great effort” could the fighters be separated from other players, “Sky” reports.

The tree is on fire at Schalke. Coach Manuel Baum, in charge only from matchday 3, should not (yet) be in question. Very different from team planner Michael Reschke, who, according to the media, is about to be fired. During this sporting crisis it almost seems that FC Schalke 04 are plagued by serious financial problems. In the spring there was even talk of an “economic situation threatening to exist”.
