The new Smart Copy feature comes to Edge Canary

[ad_1]

In March, Microsoft announced that a new feature was coming to Edge, Smart Copy. Yes, they’ve been working on this feature ever since and now it’s coming to the Canary channel. However, it’s worth it and then you’ll see what it consists of.

Extract all information from the web with Smart Copy

Smart Copy allows users keep the RTF format when copying from the web. Microsoft has noted that it will keep images, formatting or links to ensure this the content is exactly how you want it.

SmartCopy, the new Edge feature

The intelligent copy makes it easy to select, copy and paste the exact content we want from the web and preserve the rich web format. You can use the cursor to select any area or type of content. Pasting it will preserve the format, including images or links.

After a long wait, the feature is now available on Edge Canary. And we are confident that its development will continue as soon as possible through the other channels.

To activate it, press (Ctrl + Shift + X) or select “Smart Copy” in the context menu (although the menu item does not currently work). It appears that Microsoft Edge has decided to clearly differentiate itself from Google Chrome. We hope you continue to give that character to your browser.
