MediaTek’s upcoming 6nm chip nearly beats the Snapdragon 865

Currently, the best chip in MediaTek’s lineup is Dimensity 1000+, which has shown excellent market performance. But MediaTek is working on another chip in a 6nm litho process that, not being as advanced as the 5nm of its main competition, will at least be able to offer good savings. With the name MT6893, this chip also seems to have excellent performance, after having presented itself with scores practically equal to those of the Snapdragon 865.

The architecture of this chip should be very similar to that of the Exynos 1080, with one Cortex A-78 core at 3.0GHz, three Cortex A-78 at 2.6GHz and, finally, four Cortex A-55 at 2.0GHz, while the graphics will be a Mali-G77 MC9.

Performance-wise, with 886 in single core tests and 2948 in GeekBench’s multi-core tests, the MT6893 test device scores very similar to that of the Redmi K30 Ultra and OnePlus 8 with Snapdragon 865.

If you notice, the motherboard has the k6893v1_64 version, which feeds some rumors that point to at least two versions of this MediaTek.

Despite any possible variation in these scores, the MT6893 will be a very capable processor, proving that the next generation of processors will have great performance, even outside the high range. The remaining details on this chip are, however, still unknown.
