Available on Android and iPhone apps, Temporary Messages can be triggered on individual conversations or in group. But in the second case, only administrators can activate the feature. In both cases, the sent and received messages will be deleted after one week.
In the case of the media, like Photo and video, the deletion takes place from WhatsApp, but not from the smartphone, if the files have already been downloaded. Additionally, you can include a temporary message in the file Support a if it occurs before the seven day period.
It needs to be emphasized temporary messages that are forwarded are not deleted in conversations where the function is disabled.
How to enable temporary messages
1) To access the new feature, you need to update WhatsApp to the latest version of the application
2) After updating, open the WhatsApp conversation you want to delete after seven days
3) Tap the contact or group name
4) Select “Temporary Messages”
5) Click “Continue”
6) Select “Enabled”
