Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Naby Keita suffered a hamstring injury during the impressive 3-0 win over Leicester.
Keita’s career at Anfield failed to really take off with various injuries that limited his time on the pitch and lasted just 53 minutes before limping and being replaced by Neco Williams.
And after the match, Klopp revealed that the midfielder will now be evaluated by the medical team to determine the severity of the injury, in the midst of a hectic match on schedule.
He said: “He felt his hamstring and he couldn’t continue playing, otherwise he would have stayed on the pitch.”

Keita will be joined on the injury list by Xherdan Shaqiri, who had a muscle problem on international duty with Switzerland.
Klopp added: “Shaq, as I know, had a muscle injury with the national team that he didn’t realize.
“Now he trained with us, we gave him a day off and then he came back and got involved in the session, but he wasn’t fully involved and all of these things.

“He just did a little bit, then he felt a little bit. Then we did a scan and they found out he has an injury from five or six days ago.
“Nobody knew, not even Shaq knew, but sometimes that’s the way it is and so he couldn’t get involved.”
But after testing positive for coronavirus last week, Mohamed Salah will return to training on Monday and will be in contention to face Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday.
“This is what I heard, yes, that’s right [was] negative today, “said Klopp.” I think it’s pretty normal in the tests from now on. Tomorrow we have the UEFA Champions League tests and I’m pretty sure there will be.
“Now he can train with us tomorrow, that’s all. He will have two tests in the next two days, so yes, he will be tested like all of us. “
