The 5-day positivity rate is 13.7% for the province and 13.4% for the Winnipeg area.
The pandemic continues to put pressure on the province’s hospital system with 288 people hospitalized, 52 of them in intensive care due to COVID-19.

The cases announced on Sunday bring the total number of cases detected in the province since the beginning of the pandemic to 13,544.

Active cases are overestimated due to delays in the verifications necessary to remove these cases from the provincial list, because public health is prioritizing contact tracing.
The province estimates that the vast majority of active cases are no longer active 10 days after the onset of symptoms.
New infections by health region:
- Winnipeg: 135
- Prairie Mountain: 16
- South Health: 49
- Between the lakes and the East: 14
- North: 29.
Since the beginning of February, 330,265 screening tests have been carried out, of which 2,122 are on Saturdays.
Investigations into these cases are ongoing and the public will be informed if there is a risk to public health.
Death
The 12 victims of COVID-19 announced on Sunday all come from Winnipeg and were between 40 and 99 years old.
Four of the deaths are linked to outbreaks in nursing homes and one is linked to the Victoria Hospital outbreak.
