Hertha BSC against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga

[ad_1]

Efforts before reflection: The year of football is rapidly turning into a long home straight. For Borussia Dortmund it was the first of ten competitive matches in 31 days. The tide of games will gnaw the substance and there will be no rest periods needed for players. So, away from home wins are useful.

Pack of four in Norwegian: 20-year-old Erling Haaland, who returned to Dortmund earlier than expected due to a crown infection in the national team, has undoubtedly taken the lead in this match with his season goals seven, eight, nine and ten. It was his first four-pack in the Bundesliga. How he did it, he was asked by the reporter after the game. He replied that he drank a can of Red Bull at half-time and took wings. After this strategically unwise revelation, it was clear he was showing more mature performance on the pitch, not off.

The result: A few days after the international break, BVB won the Saturday night match by 5: 2 (0: 1) in an initially uncomfortable, then overloaded Berlin Hertha. Read the match report here.

The first half: It wasn’t really tingling, the initial stage. BVB entered the game slowly against Hertha, who had probably looked up the term “compact defensive” in the football dictionary. After a long tee shot, the ball landed on Dodi Lukébakio in Matheus Cunha. The Brazilian took the lead from about 20 meters away. Top BVB, 61% possession, missed a big chance seconds before half-time when Raphael Guerreiro didn’t complete after a nice combination, but fell back on the surprised Haaland.

One to surprise: Youssoufa Moukoko was also a member of the black and yellow tour group in Berlin. And not only that: the striker, who yesterday celebrated his 16th birthday, made his Bundesliga debut today. No one was younger than him. Moukoko is an exceptional talent with the potential to inspire, which became clear within the five minutes he was allowed to participate. Without goals, but fast, sure of the ball and with a big smile on his face.

A trend: In the 2002/03 season the average age was 27.1 years, in the 19/20 season it was 24.2. Bellingham, Wirtz, Musiala, Reyna and Moukoko are the names of the descendants of the league with an astonishing early maturity.

A promise that has not (yet) been kept: Hertha’s eyes were on Krzysztof Piatek before the match. After Jhon Cordoba’s failure, the striker should finally demonstrate his class. Despite a hefty 23 million euro transfer fee, Piatek has only been a substitute so far and in the match against BVB the Pole was alienated from his new environment.

The second half: BVB offered what the inclined viewer can expect from a runner-up. Less than two minutes were played when Haaland pushed forward after a cross from Emre Can and the previous relay (47th). Another two minutes later, Julian Brandt passed Haaland, who put the ball precisely in the far right corner (49th). After Plattenhardt’s erratic backward pass, Haaland dived in the middle, rounded goalkeeper Schwolow and hit third (62nd). The decision was made by Guerreiro with a decisive blow (70th). Akanji fouled Matteo Guendouzi (79th), but just 44 seconds after Cunha’s brace from the point, Haaland scored 5: 2 (80th). What is presented in interval two is quickly said: Berliners behave inconsistently offensive, Dortmunds brilliantly playful.

No love for the house: The capitals, which won against Augsburg after five winless matches before a national break, have not left the field victorious at the Olympic Stadium this season. The specially designed special jerseys and homage to the Berlin cityscape didn’t help either.

Moved: After Bayern’s stumbling block against Bremen and Leipzig in Frankfurt, Dortmund are more than ever waiting and have even placed themselves in the standings. It remains a measly counter on the record samples.
