Torbaaz Trailer: Sanjay Dutt Becomes Messiah for Children in Afghan Refugee Camps

The trailer of Sanjay Dutt and Nargis Fakhri with Torbaaz is out. The film, directed by Girish Malik, stars Sanjay as former army doctor Nasser Khan who uses cricket to bring some joy into the lives of children living in refugee camps in Afghanistan.

The trailer begins with the character of Sanjay Dutt promising to teach cricket to children he thinks are “not terrorists but the first victim of terrorism”. We soon meet the leader of a terrorist group, played by Rahul Dev, who regards children living in refugee camps as his army and wishes to use them as suicide bombers. Nargis Fakhri appears as an Afghan woman who runs an NGO and helps Sanjay improve the lives of these children.

Aside from Sanjay, what catches the eye are the beautiful locations in Kyrgyzstan which have been captured well, giving Torbaaz an aesthetic appeal. The official synopsis of Torbaaz reads: “Torbaaz is the story of a man who overcomes his personal tragedy and decides to take matters into his own hands. He is determined to train refugee camp kids to play cricket, otherwise destined to become suicide bombers. Will he be able to keep them from the path of destruction? “

Delighted to return to the screen with a “powerful film,” Sanjay Dutt shared in a statement: “The story of Torbaaz is closely aligned with the reality of Afghanistan, and the beautiful portrayal of cricket as a means of liberation is true for children. as it is for my character, Nasser Khan, recovering from a personal tragedy. I am truly grateful for all the love and support I have received over the past few months and am happy to be back on screen with this powerful film. “

Torbaaz is the first Sanjay film to release after his cancer recovery. Produced by Raju Chadha and Rahul Mittra, it will be released on Netflix on December 11th. Pransh Chopra and Humayoon Shams Khan are also featured in the film.
