Play better next-gen with the PlayStation 5 special issue

Even as a longtime GamePro editor, I can tell you: it wasn’t that easy to get to a PlayStation 5 in time for launch. In the first two waves of pre-orders of the console, which cost between 400 and 500 euros, both versions (with and without disk drives) were quickly sold out. I speak from experience, because I too went out empty-handed. Those who weren’t fast enough now don’t have a next-gen console and should seriously consider buying Ebay at an inflated price.

This problem doesn’t exist (yet) with our 146-page PlayStation 5 special, because you can get it for just $ 9.99, about a penny of what particularly cheeky retailers are currently asking for the console.

The booklet is full of guides for PlayStation 5 and all the necessary accessories. Here with the cover not yet final.

That’s not a bad deal when you consider that the booklet is packed with helpful tips and tricks for using the console, as well as extensive reviews of the available and upcoming games and the hardware itself.

Everything you need to know to get started

No, it’s not like it used to be: “Unpack the console, plug it in, start” it once was. Even the most experienced game editors love to get confused when faced with new technologies and features. I don’t feel different. That’s why you’ll find step-by-step beginner guides on topics like PlayStation accounts, data transfer, backward compatibility, technology, and most importantly, television in the PS5 special issue. Because all the power of the PS5 comes only with the right TV. HDMI 2.1 keyword!

It would be a shame to stock up on new hardware and new games and then not be able to enjoy all of this as the developers thought. There are so many pitfalls to overcome. Take Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, for example. Many gamers are playing the technically scaled down PS4 version on their brand new PS5 without even knowing it. Annoying! So it makes sense to read our special issue first. Even if you don’t have a console and have to wait a bit, you will already know when the time has finally come!
