Feeling at the Grand Slam of Darts!
Peter Wright had to pack his bags on the last day of the group match of the darts event in Coventry, England (November 16-24 LIVE on TV on SPORT1 and LIVESTREAM) after losing 2: 5 to Devon Petersen.
It is only the second time since 2013 that the world champion has not survived the Grand Slam group stage. Wright quickly fell 4-1, but almost returned.

In the seventh stage, “Snakebite” had a chance to catch up with a final 117, but missed the double-19 by a whisker. Petersen then closed the bag and secured victory in Group E. (The Grand Slam of Darts tables)
A look at the stats reveals: Wright hasn’t really played darts. The Scotsman’s average of three darts was only 83.12 points. The payout rate was even worse: Wright only got two of his 15 double attempts (13.33%).
Clemens fails because of Hunt
Even for the German hope Gabriel Clemens, the Grand Slam ended after the group stage. (Grand Slam Darts Calendar and Results)
The 37-year-old had to admit defeat to Adam Hunt 2: 5. The “German giant” started the game well and immediately took off 2-0. After that, however, Clemens had a weak phase. His opponent took advantage insensibly and secured four legs in a row.
With his serve, Hunt failed to take the last leg and made his way into the perfect round of 16. In the next round, the Brit will face Simon Whitlock.
Clemens fell behind on both the average of three darts and the payout rate.

While “The Hunter” averaged 97.06 points with three darts, Clemens scored 91.83. Additionally, Hunt had a 57.14% rate on doubles, while Clemens’ success at the cashier was only 28.57%.
Van Gerwen celebrates the next victory
In the last game of the evening Michael van Gerwen celebrated his third victory in the third game.
The Dutchman won 5-3 against Joe Cullen. However, MvG was able to play completely free and without pressure, as not only did he have a place in the round of 16 before the match, but he couldn’t give up the lead in the standings either. In the round of 16 “Mighty Mike” will meet none other than Gary Anderson.
Michael Smith meanwhile entered the round of 16 as first in Group C with a 5-2 win over Krzysztof Ratajski. There the Bully Boy has a great duel: the 30-year-old meets Rob Cross, with whom he recently missed the title at the PDC World Cup.
The results in the overview:
