The Portuguese judoka, number 11 in the world ranking, guaranteed access to the final after winning the Serbian Marica Perisic (33rd in the hierarchy), from ‘ippon’, in the third match played at Arena 02.
Previously, Telma Monteira had already defeated Dutchman Sanne Verhagen (23rd) and Poland’s Júlia Kowalczyk (16th), both by ‘ippon’.
