Fortnite: on PS5 and other platforms: video chat is coming!

Long-time Fortnite battle royale is constantly being developed and is now getting a fantastic new feature on select platforms: a video chat!

If you keep betting on the Battle Royale Fortnite shooter and value the game more together with friends, you can expect a great new feature on at least some platforms. Epic Games now offers the title a video chat, which you can use to see your friends while you play.

Video chat integrated directly into the game will initially be supported on PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 platforms. Buyers of Sony’s next-generation console can also expect the feature. This is made possible by a collaboration with the Houseparty app used for this.

How does it work? You need an iOS or Android device on which you have installed the mentioned app. You then need to link it to your Epic Games account and then align this mobile device accordingly so it can be seen in the image. The app then places your head in front of a Fortnite-themed wallpaper. You can see what the whole thing looks like in the game in the screenshot above.

Of course, the function can also be disabled via the parent settings. A video chat is only possible in the same party room or with your friends. Further details can be found in the FAQ on the game’s official website.

Of course, no in-game Halloween event should be missing from Epic Games’ long-running Fortnite battle royale.
