On the same day as the 2020 NBA Draft, Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson allegedly suffered an right lower leg injuries of unknown severity.

NBA reporter Shams Charania tweeted Thompson, 30, will undergo tests on Wednesday afternoon to reveal more information on how long he may be out. Charania also tweeted that Thompson couldn’t put weight on his leg as he left the pitch. ESPN journalist Adrian Wojnarowski added that the injury occurred during a workout in Southern California, but that’s all we know for now.

The fact that both reporters chose to tweet vague updates on the Dubs guard would seem to indicate fears of a potentially serious injury that has not yet been confirmed; That said, it’s obviously possible that Thompson’s camp is overly cautious and worried about relatively minor tweaking. The Warriors organization is signaling to The Athletic reporter Anthony Slater that speculating too much at this stage isn’t worth it.

The stakes are particularly high for the five-time All-Star because he skipped all last season as he was recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee. It was expected that he would return to the starting lineup next month alongside Stephen Curry, who missed most of the 2019-20 season due to his injury problems.

We will update this post when more information becomes available.
