Bob Arum was recently targeted after he told Athletic that he has lost money to promote Terence Crawford’s last three fights as it appears that “Bud” cannot make the money that some of his other fighters have generated in the past.
It’s an investment that the longtime boxing promoter says it would have been best to put it in a home for him in Beverly Hills.
So when asked about those comments during the “Contender Series” press conference, UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) President Dana White dumped Arum, a man who never liked him.
“You can imagine if I said that. Are you kidding me? Guys, you would kill me if I said that, I would never hear the end of it. This is what you do. It’s not his fucking problem, it’s your problem. His problem isn’t understanding how money is made, “he said (via MMA Fighting).
“You signed a contract with this fucking guy. Your job is to promote it. You made a deal. All these guys that I sign. If you look at all the guys we’ve signed, our list is very inflated right now. We have a very extensive list right now, the largest we’ve ever had in the company’s history. I have to pay these guys. How I pay them is not their fucking problem, it’s my fucking problem. “
For White, Arum trying to blame Crawford – the WBC, WBO and The Ring Welterweight champion – for not generating enough enthusiasm and money is downright criminal as it is Bob’s job to promote.
“Imagine him saying, ‘Oh, I have to pay Conor McGregor all this money. I could have bought a house in Beverly Hills. Shut the fuck up, you shitty bitch. Pay your fucking fighter what you owe him. This is your job. Bob Arum is a piece of shit, “concluded White.
Crawford – who knocked out Kell Brook on Saturday night (November 14, 2020) – is widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport today. So if White can ever get ZUFFA Boxing to work, maybe he can steal the talented boxer from Arum
That or “Bud” can follow Canelo’s lead.
