After going through all the graphics with the performance tests, you notice that the new Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT are there. They fight side by side with the RTX 3080. Yes. Both of them.

And the RX 6800 is sure to be something of a popular board because it is priced slightly lower. And the performance level is not much lower. AND it is clear that it is slightly higher than the RTX 3070.

This happens until you see the CS: GO chart. It is abhorrent that even after such a bitter long time, it works even better with Nvidia GPUs.

But I’m sure AMD will take some action and fix this problem from the driver. On the processor side I saw a sudden leap in terms of CS: GO. The best CPU for this game is now Ryzen 9 5900X, not the Intel Core i9 10900K that was once the king of games.

However, we take it as we see it. It’s AMD’s fault that CS: GO is doing worse with its GPU. This is despite CS: GO being an extremely popular game.

The fact that in the graphs below we have the red bars smaller than the green ones is strictly due to their optimizations. Or the lack of them.

You can say what you want about this game. But since it is eSports, a kind of F1 games, the best GPU has to offer the best performance. It is irrelevant whether the GPU is at 15% or 30% when running CS: GO. It is important to have as little delay as possible. This way you can learn some reflexes that will help guide your team to victory.

I don’t see anyone blaming Lewis Hamilton for consuming too much fuel and he didn’t go eco mode the way you go latest technology on the road.

Or commenting on the use of extremely complex technologies for such a simple task … driving.

As F1 switches to electric motors, and esports will accept these ray tracing cards. This does not mean that it will use this technology. But she will be there with that high performance.

From our point of view, even if CS: GO penalizes graphics performance a bit, the adoption rate of AMD GPUs in the eSport arena will suffer even if they don’t do something in terms of performance.

A GPU should run games well. Point. The rest is politics and the vicious circle between corporations and game developers.

Next, the RTX 2080 Ti is the fastest GPU with 1080P resolution. But this is only true for scenarios without ray tracing. We will deal with this topic independently and only then will we compose a slightly fancier and more understandable top for a player of … everything.

Relative difference in performance%

As we are used to, the head of the table is represented by the most powerful GPU of the moment whose main destination is gaming. And since the RTX 3090 has been praised by Nvidia as the first GPU for 8K gaming, we will use it as the best GPU, but also the most expensive.

If you compose a price / performance ratio, the RTX 3090 would certainly be among those coded.

The difference between RX 6800 XT and RTX 3080 is strictly due to the affinity of some tests for Nvidia or AMD GPUs. As I said before, politics and agreements.

I noticed the same thing and checking out DiRT 5 for the ray tracing article that we will post shortly. It works very well with AMD GPUs and the same cannot be said of Nvidia ones. Well, we will talk about this when we have all the numbers on the table / chart.

On the raster side, the two GPUs are somewhat similar. I mean the RTX 3080 and the RX 6800 XT. As for the RX 6800, it’s pretty clear that it’s more powerful than the fantastic implementations of the RTX 3070.

But going back to the RX 6800 XT and the RTX 3080, these two offer about the same level of gaming performance.

This means that the deciding factor is somehow holding on to the extra features of the GPU. For example, CUDA and OpenCL.

These are important for any other non-gaming related activities. There are applications that work very well using CUDA and others that are still based on OpenCL.

It seems that you have no reason to choose the RX 6800 or RX 6800 XT?

Think about one aspect when choosing the GPU family you want to twin with. Freesync is a perfect bridge between PC games and game consoles. Next generation consoles will certainly not be able to work with monitors equipped with a G-Sync processor. And Freesync is compatible with VESA VRR standard (variable refresh rate).

Basically you can only use one monitor for the console, but also for the PC.

I really want to emphasize something else. When you choose the Nvidia ecosystem, you are stuck exclusively in PC gaming. While the other manufacturer gives you some flexibility when you change things around the house.

So far I have checked two monitors with G-Sync and the result has been 1080P @ 60Hz, although the monitors run on PC at 120Hz and 144Hz.

And maybe Freesync isn’t as interesting on PC games as G-Sync, but on VRR consoles it makes the difference between last-gen and next-gen. Especially now that 120 fps frame rates can be achieved.

So yes, it may seem like these RXs are tools that offer more flexibility to those looking to use multiple gaming platforms.

Prices and availability

It is my favorite chapter when it comes to Romania. However, at this launch I received the information that there are stocks in the tens of thousands. Which is very interesting compared to the maximum of 20 cards that Nvidia brought to the launch of the RTX 3080. And not to mention the current situation where everything is sold out.

The prices communicated are as follows:

• RX 6800XT – 3699 RON (TVA included)
• RX 6800-3299 RON (VAT included)

The cheaper RTX 3070 than PC Garage costs 3799 Lei (including VAT) and the cheaper RTX 3080 costs 4799 Lei (including VAT). Overcoming the lack of stock when it comes to the Nvidia 3000 series, the prices are just plain stupid.

I will not refer to why they have these prices, but of course they are stupid. RTX 3070 should cost less than 3000 Lei, as well as RTX 2070. The reasons invoked by all, as an excuse for the price exaggerations, are that it works like an RTX 2080 Ti and that there is a big blow to them.

It would be a big blow if there were dishes. But for now, everyone is angry that they have nothing to buy. And that’s despite Nvidia bombarding us with commercials for Call of Duty and other fun campaigns.

And if we still get the price of the RTX 3070, perhaps AMD should have placed its RX 6800 below 3000 Lei. After all, the new Radeon cards seem to have only one advantage over Nvidia cards: availability.

But you see, AMD is still a company and thanks you because someone else took all the hatred for the prices.

Be careful what you buy and especially when you buy. Don’t throw your hard-earned cash out the window.

I recommend you buy some popcorn and watch the new Radeon RX 6000 disappear from stock. I firmly believe that this will happen. Probably some of those who have been waiting to get an RTX will buy an RX and maybe later put it on OLX.

Perhaps the appearance of these cards will lead to a normalization of the prices of the new GPUs. Sure, he’s racing now.
