BBC to investigate allegations that Princess Diana was tricked into giving an interview in 1995
British public broadcaster BBC has launched an investigation into allegations that Princess Diana was tricked into giving an interview to the channel in 1995 with fake documents and the agency covered her up despite knowing it.
BBC Chief Executive Tim Davie announced that he was determined to know the truth about these allegations by Diana’s brother Charles Spencer and announced that former judge John Dyson has been appointed to investigate the matter.
Dyson stressed that the work would begin immediately and that the investigation would be thorough and fair.
BBC reporter Martin Bashir, who gave the interview, has not yet released a statement on the subject. It was claimed that Bashir, who is still working on the canal, was on leave after heart surgery and a new type of coronavirus treatment (Kovid-19).
“BBC covered up”
Spencer claimed that BBC reporter Bashir had told him and his sister that Diana had been intercepted by the security services and that her 2 aides had been paid to gather information on Diana.
Noting that Bashir showed fake bank statements to prove his claim, Spencer claimed that the BBC not only knew about the problem but hid it.
Princess Diana admitted in her famous interview that she is having an affair with another person and gave details of her marriage to the heir to the throne, Prince Charles.
Princess Diana, whose marriage ended in 1996, died in a traffic accident in Paris in August 1997.
