Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo on Tuesday unveiled the concept of a new smartphone with an extendable screen.
The new OppoX2021 technology was announced by the company at its annual conference Oppo Inno Day, held virtually this year.
The OLED screen of this prototype measures 6.7 inches diagonally under compact conditions, but can be unrolled by pulling one end up to a maximum of 7.4 inches – a particularly useful mode when playing movies or video games.
The company has clarified that the user himself can choose to what size he wants to adjust the screen, being able to use any intermediate measure.
For this, the device will be equipped with two small electric motors that will ensure that this movement is uniform; plus a high-strength protective film Warp Track.
Unlike other folding models, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, in the case of the OppoX2021 there are no cracks or creases, details of the Xataka portal.
At the moment no details have been published on technical aspects such as processor, memory, battery or camera; also, it is not known when it will go on sale.
