Call of the Sea gets release date

Call of the Sea, a first-person puzzle adventure game, will be officially released on December 8, 2020 for Xbox Series S / X, Xbox One, and PC.

Publisher Raw Fury and independent developer Out of the Blue announced on Tuesday (17) that the game will also be released in the Xbox and Xbox Game Pass digital stores for consoles and PCs. Call of the Sea can also be purchased for PC via Steam, GOG and the Microsoft Store.

“A supernatural story of self-discovery and mystery set in the 1930s, Call of the Sea is a love letter to the adventurous genre about a woman’s search for her missing husband in the unknown borders of the South Pacific. On an island exuberant paradise, you will unearth the remains of a lost civilization, investigate clues and solve a series of clever puzzles to piece together the fate of your husband’s expedition. “

According to a press release, players will be able to explore tropical environments in this “immersive journey inspired by the surreal emotions, suspense and surprises of HP Lovecraft stories”.

The game was created with Unreal Engine 4 and gives players the task of investigating clues left by the island’s previous inhabitants, solving a series of puzzles to find out what happened in her husband’s seemingly final expedition.

The game’s main character – the wife who lost her husband – is voiced by BAFTA-winning actress Cissy Jones for Best Actress, who has also voiced characters in games such as Firewatch, Life if Strange and The Walking Dead.
