Venezuela ended their thirst-quenching goal drought on Tuesday by beating Chile 2-1 with a decisive score from Salomón Rondón and celebrating their first win in South American qualification for the Qatar-2022 World Cup.
Rondón appeared in the 82nd minute to decide the match at the Olympic State of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), in Caracas, pushing a Yeferson Soteldo center into the net. In this way, he extended his record as Vinotinto’s top scorer, reaching 31 goals.
A header from Luis Mago in the 9th gave the locals an advantage and Arturo Vidal had equalized in the 15th with a rebound.
